Bond junction box (joint cathodiс protection) model 016

Bond junction box s designed for operation with cathodic protection rectifier like arrangements with segregated protection in order to eliminate deleterious effect of adjacent communication lines on each other. Adjustment of current in the Box can be done in steps by rearrangement of adjusting jumpers and smoothly by rotating adjustment resistor handle ).
The Box is manufactured in two versions depending on the channel’s conductivity: with “direct” and “reverse” conductivity. The “direct” conductivity Box differs from the “reverse” conductivity Box by the opposite polarity of diode connection.

Functionality

  • The box ensures joint protection of several buried structures from one cathodic protection rectifier by setting relevant resistance in module channels.
  • The box ensures potential equalization in the areas of pipeline crossing and communication cables intersection.
  • The box enables maintaining required protection potential on isolation flanges and communication cables from the cathodic protection rectifier connected to the pipeline.
  • The box enables maintaining required protection potential at the casing of the ducts under motor ways and railways from cathodic protection rectifier connected to the pipeline.
  • The module can be used as controllable polarized drain.
  • Paralleled operation of channels with similar conductivity and similar resistance in one module is allowed.
  • Paralleled operation of modules with channels with similar conductivity and similar resistance is allowed.
  • When using adjustable resistor of smooth adjustment, parallel operation of channels (modules) is not allowed.
  • If necessary, the box channels of the same conductivity can be connected in-series.

Boxes may be equipped with DIN-rail terminals, busbar with bolted connections and many different control and regulation equipment such as variable resistors, measuring shunts, reed switches, spark gaps and rectifier diodes.
